He governs the Department of New-adult Inauguration & Initiation, the Department of Soulmate Matters, the Department of Non-Soulmate Relations, and the Department of General Adulthood Guidance. Each cycle, under the Chief of Uji’s watchful gaze, Gaynor personally brandishes the hot coal burner, marking every fifteen-cycle-old with the ‘A’ mark of adulthood.
