The historical Isle of Mountu was largely settled by Whitescales. Historical annals described rolling hills, forested mountains, sheltered waterways and richly diverse wooded areas. Numerous small familial clans occupied its valleys and terraces, often maintaining distinct customs and contesting control of the surrounding land. Larger settlements were centred upon vast thatched structures, while wooden homes and cultivated terraces extended into the hills beyond.
