The Cliff Edge of Uji, also known as The Cliff Edge of City Korai, is the highest point on the island of Uji: a coastal precipice where City Korai’s polished civic architecture meets the open waters below. Known chiefly for its role in The Jump, it serves as the ceremonial setting for the Mainland’s coming-of-age celebration, where new-adults leap into the waters on their fifteenth birth-days.
The Cliff Edge is neatly segmented from the rest of City Korai by green pathways, softening the transition between the city and the cliffside. Along this boundary sits a row of cliffside apartments designated for Government employees, placing trusted workers in close proximity to one of The Mainland’s most symbolically significant sites.
Along its far edge, a grand arch marks the threshold into The Cliff Edge. Beyond the arch lies The Orientation Centre, and beside the arch stands The City Korai Law Enforcer Equipment Depot.
Outside of special ceremonial days, The Cliff Edge functions much like any other scenic area of City Korai. Its views make it a popular location for dates, gatherings and sunset picnics. During adult hours (between 78th and 88th hour during children's hibernation), thrill-seeking Korainians are often found cliff diving, reinforcing its place as a part of everyday life in the Upper Region.
The narrative heart of WOKU. An era with a plethora of stories and experiences, each exploring the Korainian world in unique ways.
