The first Government-commissioned volume of The Annals of Ujian History is an old yet frequently cited tome that has become something of a collector’s item on Uji. Compiled in 207AL and mandated by the Elder of Philosophy under Chief Kor, the Annals serve as both historical record and ideological guide, reinforcing the belief that Korainian civilisation was shaped by tragedy, migration, and the guiding hand of The Universe.

This rare first-edition copy rests among archival texts, scrolls, and letters awaiting digitisation by an unlikely steward searching for traces of truth. Opened to the map of The Mother Isles — Mountu, Volcanis, and Sandya — it documents the lands that existed before heavy flooding forced Korainians to flee by boats to the island of Uji.

An excerpt from this edition records the early governance of Chief Kor (200AL–216AL):

In the cycles following the close of Chief Wen’s reign, The Universe, in its boundless wisdom, guided The Government to elevate and Elder from among their ranks. Thus began the tenure of Chief Kor (200AL–216AL), a period marked by clarity of vision and structural renewal. Under his steady hand, The Ranks were expanded from four to eight. In his foresight, Chief Kor divided the sacred duties of the Elder of Guidance into two distinct offices: the Elder of Maturity and the Elder of Philosophy, thereby strengthening civic order.

Of the five Elders newly appointed in this enlightened era, particular honour was bestowed upon Elder Taka, a descendant of the great Chief Taka, whose lineage and wisdom made him a fitting steward of philosophical record. It was by his commission that this edition of the Annals was conceived, preserved, and set forth for the instruction of generations yet to come.

Notably, it was during this administration that The Companionship Law (commonly known as The Fling Law) was proposed and instated. Chief Kor’s reign is remembered as a popular one, and he is often favourably referred to in the Annals as “the Chief who championed flings.”
