The islanders

The islands are known to those on Uji as being far more fruitful than the rocky Mainland. While all individuals on the planet regard themselves Korainians, those from Uji refer to the Korainians known to have traversed the archipelago of their origin as ‘Islanders’ (comparatively referring to themselves as ‘Ujians’).

The Isle of Volcanis

A rocky plane dominated by an active volcano, Volcanis stands as a formidable presence within The Mother Isles on the planet Korai Uji. Despite its harsh terrain, Volcanis teems with life.

Crystalline lakes shimmer under the sun, reflecting the soaring wings of an array of birdlife adapted to the unique environment. Volcanis is known to have been most populated by Blackscale Korainians, whose resilience mirrors the island's rugged landscape.

The land

After a series of natural disasters forced Korainians to abandon their Mother Isles in search of stability, the sloped and rocky risen land of Uji was the only candidate remaining.

created by the combined efforts of three colonies (the Whitescales of Mountu, the Redscales of Sandya and the Blackscales of Volcanis), the 70 mile-long cliff-edged island is home to many woku stories.
From In The Water, Chapter three
"It was my Geography of Uji classes that had taught me The Colony Outlands, the first settlements on Uji, were divided into territories for each kind of scale... Ino Taka brokered peace to end The War for Uji. His settlement declared the land they inhabited as neutral, and over hundreds of cycles that land became The Mainland we have today."
